MY STORY

My journey as a Director of Photography launched in 2018 when I shot my first short film “Refraction Sector”, but VHS camcorders and 8mm tapes contain evidence of my passion from a very young age. For me, filmmaking was a childhood hobby that grew into a genuine love and curiosity for filmmaking.

I studied Fine Arts at the University of Manitoba that included drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking - but nothing consumed my time like cameras did. In school, I saw cinematography as relatively recent medium as far as the history of art is concerned - with so much potential. When I look through a lens and frame the world before my eyes, that’s when I feel most alive.

I worked as an event and portrait photographer & videographer for 6 years while in school, and now I film a variety of artistic, commercial, and narrative projects. I started a film production company called Folks Films with my brother, Taylor, where I am head of cinematography in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In 2021 I was accepted to the Canadian Society of Cinematographers as an Associate Member (CSC).

I am most experienced in Music Videos & Short Films (many of which have had successful festival runs) and local TV (unscripted & narrative comedy). I have taught cinematography and filmmaking with Film Training Manitoba and the Winnipeg Film Group.

I’m proud to say I have my Advanced Drone Pilot certification, and right now I am training to specialize FPV drone flying.
